IIRRT Webinar: Shaping Your Future – A Growth-Based Approach to Career Planning

The IIRRT at Sheffield Hallam University is pleased to host the webinar “Shaping Your Future: A Growth-Based Approach to Career Planning” on Wednesday 11th February, 6.30–8.00pm.

This webinar will be facilitated by Melanie Clarkson BSc (Hons), PGCE, MSc, PFHEA, a Therapeutic Radiographer and an experienced leader in advanced and enhanced practice education. Melanie works nationally and internationally to support the development of the Radiography workforce, contributing to initiatives with organisations such as the NHS England Centre for Advancing Practice and the College of Radiographers. She also plays an active role across several professional networks focused on advanced practice, education, and research.

At Sheffield Hallam University, Melanie is Programme Lead for the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice Radiotherapy and Oncology and the PgC Enhanced Practice in Radiotherapy and Oncology, where she supports practitioners in navigating career progression, leadership development, and evolving professional roles.

Webinar synopsis
This session introduces a contemporary, reflective approach to career planning grounded in growth mindset principles and continuous professional development. Participants will explore how to recognise and build on their developing strengths, clarify personal and professional aspirations, and create realistic pathways for progression within a rapidly changing healthcare environment. Using structured reflection tools and interactive exercises, the webinar encourages attendees to take ownership of their career journey and approach future opportunities with confidence and adaptability.

This webinar will be relevant to Radiographers and Radiation Therapists at all career stages who are considering their next steps or seeking a fresh perspective on career planning.  This webinar is kindly funded by the National HSCP Office.
